Welcome SouthWaltonDiningScene.com!  My name is Jill Gaupin and this is my site about all things food, wine and dining in my beloved, adopted hometown of South Walton county, Florida. 

If you have stumbled upon the site by accident, you will notice I am in still in the process of getting the site up-to-speed and things change a lot around here right now.  I am diligently working the site's design, it's content, it's order so please excuse my construction and I promise to be up and functional as soon as humanly possible.

Why SouthWaltonDiningScene.com and a little about me.

The sister site to SouthWaltonScene.com (formerly SoWalScene.com), this website has been a long time in the making.  My husband, Olivier, and I spend an extraordinary amount of time cooking, eating, dining out, and drinking wine - and talking about cooking, eating, dining out and drinking wine - and I am incredibly excited to be able to provide the community and the millions that visit our idyllic shores annually a virtual foodie resource.

Although I am not a professional chef (but my husband is a 24-year veteran of the kitchen!), I do have a culinary degree under my belt from the nationally acclaimed L'Academie de Cuisine outside of Washington D.C. and was at one time an aspiring pastry chef.  If nothing else, I do consider myself a professional foodie.

South Walton county, in the Florida panhandle, is situated directly in between Destin to the east and Panama City Beach to the west and includes the beach communities of Miramar Beach, Sandestin, Santa Rosa Beach, Dune Allen Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, Grayton Beach, WaterColor, Seaside, Seagrove Beach, Point Washington, WaterSound, Alys Beach, Seacrest, Rosemary Beach & Inlet Beach.
