"What makes a restaurant memorable? Is it the atmosphere? ambience? food? Perhaps it’s striking a balance with all three, something you’ll discover at Caliza Restaurant, the newest place to dine along Florida panhandle’s 30-A.

Located in Alys Beach, one of the 15 communities in the Beaches of South Walton, chef Olivier Gaupin (who is no stranger to the area, having worked at WaterColor and WaterSound resorts) is quick to say that the menu selections aren’t your typical fare. He describes it as more of an American bistro with top steak cuts, seafood and more.

“Simplicity and sophistication is our target,” he says. “We don’t want to come across stuffy. The restaurant is located by the pool and near the beach. People are on vacation and they want to relax.”

And as for the food, Gaupin says the menu reflects the water, local produce and southern flavors. The menu itself is ever-evolving, and is based on availability and season.  Full Story Here>
